Nathan Hiscock

Game Designer

About Me

I am a student working towards becoming a video game designer, learning and enhancing new skills and gathering the best experience possible. I have been playing games for many years of my life and feel very passionate about the value they bring to the world through in-depth storytelling, endless entertainment or even the spreading of awareness of important matters such as accessibility in gaming. I have had the opportunity to experience many different games from various genres from Indie or AAA studios. Through this, I understand those things that can make a game feel special or what communities expect and desire from different games. My education has helped me find what I enjoy most about making games including asset design, level design and world-building. I am constantly working to master the related skills to continue increasing the standard of my creations. My education time has already offered some beneficial opportunities including designing levels in Unity for a 2D platformer game, creating asset concepts and UI for mobile apps, designing characters and assets for a 3D puzzle game and I have even had some experience in development by creating working scripts for a mobile app that uses Augmented Reality. I also aim to develop my skills in my personal time, whether it's learning new skills in Bender or sketching concepts for a random idea I had for a video game. I am constantly aiming to learn new skills and make great achievements and I am always excited to play new games.
